Nike Air Jordan I & Air Jordan XIV

Written by Photography

I arrived home a bit early form work today and decided to kill some time before helping a friend with homework. What better way to do that than to take out some old kicks and photograph them. I decided to shoot the Air Jordan 1s along with the Air Jordan 14s. These are some of the earliest pairs I bought/traded.

I’m supposed to meet with Devon next week to photograph some shoes with him as well. I thought this would be a good way to practice some shots before we met to do the real thing. I used the 580EX II as a source of light and it worked out very well. Product photography is somewhat about the lighting, and sneakers are no exception to this rule. The Air Jordan One’s glossy surface reflected the light very well. With the XIV I tried to keep the light source away from the heel since that (in my opinion) is the strongest part of the sneaker itself.
