Baruch College Bearcats advance to NCAA quarterfinal round

Written by Tania, Volleyball

The Baruch College Bearcats have made it into the NCAA quarterfinal round yet again!

I have to admit this first-round game was very exciting to watch. Baruch defeated Lasell in 5 sets to take the quarterfinal spot to face #1 Stevens next Friday. I remember when we made it into the playoff bracket in 2012. This was probably my best moment in my entire volleyball career. Well, that and beating Stevens to make it into the bracket (since we lost in CUNY finals).

Rutgers University also just beat Endicott in 3 sets to seal their spot against #2 Springfield in the quarterfinal match next Friday.

Tania and I walked through Long Island City before making our way to the game. We have decided to walk more throughout the summer and this is probably our starting mark. I saw an interesting mural on the way to the subway and decided to snap a picture of her next to it. I love the way it turned out. After the game we walked north to 42nd street and took the train home.

I snapped the featured image after Baruch scored their 15th point in the fifth set. I love the contrasting coach’s reactions after the game ended. Baruch worked hard and definitely deserves the spot to face Stevens. I wish them the best of luck in their quarterfinal match!
