Don’t wait till New Year’s – Month 12 complete

Written by Fitness / Bodybuilding

It has officially been 365 days! Today completes my year-long journey. I kept thinking about this day many times along the way and never thought I would get here. I’ve tried in high school but only managed to stay focused for 4 months before giving up.

I’m happy I fought through it. It was tough, but I have to admit it could have been worse. Maybe being in athletics for the past 9 years helped, or maybe it was mama’s good cooking. Whatever the case, I am happy I have made it this far.

Now is the time to look ahead and plan to make 2014 an even better year. Going at it for twelve months has helped me discover my strengths and weaknesses. For starters, both the measurements and the pictures reveal that my legs, and waist are my weak points. I am extremely satisfied with the way my upper body played out, but I need to focus more on legs and my mid section. I also have to try to maintain a healthy diet. I looked back at my first bodybuilding post and cannot believe I wrote “While starting, I won’t focus on what I eat. Anything goes”. What was I thinking?

Though I’ve gained thirteen pounds since I started, I can confidently say that eating properly would probably have gained me some more pounds along the way. I trained hard, but muscle growth is not only obtained in the gym. This is something I am going to try to focus on for 2014. Not only do my eating and sleeping habits matter, but I find that maintaining a focused and healthy mindset have a lot to do with it as well. And the time to start is now. Don’t wait till New Year’s!

Had some fun shooting the progress pictures for this one (Thanks Felix!). Got inspiration from one of my favorites (DLB).
