Video of Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

Following a two year tradition, Tania and I decided to go watch the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks. Once again we decided that heading over to Hoboken NJ was the best way to go. Doing so allowed us to avoid large crowds and have a great view.

We arrived in Hoboken at around 7pm. We walked on Washington Street to grab a bottle of water before we headed over to the pier. We were lucky enough to find a bench to sit on right on the pier. It came to our attention that there was a garden behind the bench in which we could get a great view once the fireworks started. We planned accordingly and waited for the magical time (9:30). While we were waiting, Tania noticed that a dog jumped from the pier into the water. The coast guard arrived on the scene shortly after and helped guide the dog to the shore.

The fireworks began a bit late and ended on time. Probably saved the city some money purchasing fireworks. Nothing is quite like the seeing the first one going off. The anticipation and joy from the crowd feels good. Since I took my DSLR to the show last year, I decided not to take too many stills. Therefore, I brought my point and shoot and snapped some videos.

The grand finale was around 9:55. This was probably the most exciting part. Loads of fireworks going off at the same time right above our heads. The thundering sounds, colorfully reflective river, and “oohs” and “aahs” made the night very enjoyable. After the fireworks display was over, we waited a bit for people do disperse. We then headed back to Washington Street to grab something to eat. About an hour later we arrived back at the Hoboken Path train station only to be greeted by several people steaming in a sauna.
