Arharn Thai Restaurant

Written by Recipes / Food

With our love for Thai food, we influenced each other to go and try out a new Thai restaurant. After some research on Zagat we drove (during unbearable weather) to the Arharn Thai restaurant in Astoria. In our favor the place was completely empty. Upon entry I noticed a “B” rating by the NYC sanitary inspection department. Once we were seated, the soothing music and empty atmosphere helped to get us relaxed.

We started off with Crispy Rolls appetizer along with some Jasmine Tea to warm us up. The rolls were stuffed with glass noodle and vegetables. The plum dipping sauce added more flavor the the already established taste.

I ordered Chicken Kouy Teaw Kee Mowe (after noticing the spicy symbol) while Tania had Shrimp Pad Thai. Not the best presentation, but the food was good. On my side, I disliked the amount of oil used in the dish. My wide rice noodles were sliding all over the plate. Tania was also a bit displeased with the fact that her dish was not spicy.
