Yes Scholars – Session Photography

So, I’ve been with YES Scholars for a little over a month now and I have to say the job is going smoothly. I’ve made some updates to their website and will roll out some more in the future. One of the administrators for YES Scholars wanted me to attend a Saturday session to see what the program is all about and take some photos of the children learning.

I have to say I really enjoyed being in a classroom setting again. The children there were from 6th, 7th and 8th grades. They were very intelligent and very attentive to what was being taught. They participated, didn’t disrupt the lecture, and were absorbing the new information and concepts presented before them. It feels as though I graduated just yesterday, and today’s experience definitely made me want to return to the classroom.

I shot this during the session. The students were watching a movie and a friend of mine showing me the different classrooms used for teaching. I snapped this shot on the 10th floor of the William Warren Hall building.
