Exploring Bear Mountain

Written by Nature, Tania

Tania and I decided to spend part of our weekend exploring Bear Mountain. We love Bear Mountain and have been there for some deer and even a meteor shower. This time we just went for the fresh breeze.

We arrived before the sun had set and took a twisty narrow road towards a summer camp. Unfortunately the camp was for registered guest only so we had to turn back. On our way back we found an unpaved side route which we decided to explore. We made it up a few hills and decided to turn back because we weren’t certain that the Ford Explorer was fit for the job.

Overall the experience was refreshing. We saw an apple tree, many animals, and even some strange insects. The best was smelling burning wood as we drove by cabins. We ended our trip by driving around Greenwood Lake and then heading home.
