Windows 10 Free Upgrade

Written by Leisure / General

I’ve been reading into windows 10 for quite some time now, and there are a lot of positive reviews. In summary Windows 10 seems to be the best of Windows 7 and 8. I have been a semi-loyal user of the windows operating system since windows XP (I have used Ubuntu here and there). It’s now time to upgrade to Windows 10. Apparently all windows 7,8 and 8.1 users get a free upgrade to windows 10 for 1 year.

Unlike windows XP (which came on a CD), I don’t think upgrading to windows 10 will be as seamless. I believe the OS needs to be downloaded via windows update and then upgraded. This might be a headache especially if something goes wrong in the future and I want to reinstall the operating system over again. Will it be free? Will I need to enter a product-id? Ah, too many questions!

I will start by upgrading my desktop and seeing how things go. Fingers crossed!
