Gels, gels, gels! I love shooting with gels. I used the Canon 600ex-rt speedlites to capture this image. The Air Jordan III are known for their cement print pattern on the midsole. Therefore, I decided to shoot them on a zebra-print bedspread. I used a wide aperture to bring the foreground shoe into focus while allowing the image to fade out on the outer edges of the frame. One speedlite (to the right of the sneakers) was coupled with a red gel while the other (on left) had a green gel. Shooting without gels gives a clean look, but in this case I was looking to add some drama to the shoes.
