Peekskill Riverfront Green Fireworks

Written by Photography, Tania, Video

No 4th of July is complete without Tania and I watching some fireworks. We’ve done so for the past 3 years and decided to do it again this year. Instead of traveling to Jersey City as we always do, Tania planned this trip out after some research. She thought it would be best that we go to Peekskikll, NY.

We arrived around 3pm and decided to grab some lunch. Chinese seemed fine since the town seemed abandoned due to the independence day festivities. We had about 5 hours to kill after lunch so we headed over to Depew Park. Apparently the NY Jets practiced there 1963 to 1969 and won the world championships in 1969. It’s good Tania selected a park of champions because I would have refused to go to any other one.

We strolled through some light trails, took some pictures of butterflies and then had a Tania shoot. We arrived at the Riverfront Green at around 7pm. 2.5 hours to go. Luckily, there was a band playing. We enjoyed some music for a while and then relocated to get a better view of the fireworks.

We were almost near the start of the firework display. To our left we saw some fireworks in the distance and reasoned that they were probably from the Macy 4th of July barges.

Shortly after, our on display had begun. Of course I could not resist snapping some shots of the display. I took a couple of quick ones and then joied Tania to enjoy the rest.
